For anyone in Los Angeles County searching for mental health care, for themselves or for someone they love, the search itself can feel like the hardest part. The systems are confusing. The wait times are long. The right door is not always easy to find. We built the Briskin | Wilder Welcome Center to be that door— and it’s free and open to everyone in our community.
The Briskin | Wilder Welcome Center is both a program and a place, created to close a gap that has kept too many people from getting help. At no cost, anyone in the community can call or walk through our doors and receive personalized support from a team whose only job is to help them find the most appropriate care. That may mean beginning therapy here at Maple Counseling or connecting with the right agency, provider, or support system elsewhere in the community.
In 2025 alone, that team answered 2,317 calls and helped 1,527 individuals find their way to care, entirely free of charge. That represents a 294 percent increase since 2021, when the Welcome Center served 388 people. There is no cost to access the Welcome Center, and no one who reaches out is turned away. Whether someone knows exactly what they need or simply doesn’t know where to start, they can come to us for guidance, resources, and a path forward.
Because finding mental health care shouldn’t depend on your ability to pay, and no one should have to navigate it alone.
